A few thoughts:

1998 Focus - white collar market

Thin 6 oz. unit more appealing

38 hr. battery very attractive

Two-lines allow Nextel to hook heavy personal use users - the ones PCS competitors need, now, more than ever

Rep commission plan payouts will be geared toward digital cellular use - lucrative incentives for reps to weave business and personal use in ways that make Nextel the most money - not through one-time contract-based give-aways.

'97 was a blue-collar blitz, but '98 promises to bring more to the table - including secure digital data transmission on what still is the only all-nationwide digital network.

Business Networks will continue to expand, but the influence of white collar professionals will only add to the word of mouth leverage Nextel has enjoyed among users in '97. Lawyers absolutely love iDEN technology. Ditto: Real estate professionals. Expect to hear more firsthand success stories hitting the mainstream press about how Nextel's technology is making a big difference in the business marketplace.

Look for continued differentiation and understanding of PCS - digital cellular - two-way "chat" versus Direct Connect "all-business" dispatch.

Afterall, McCaw is creating the "Next telephone system"

Cheers!
