My personal rules of posting etiquette

After being involved in a couple of ridiculous disputes which came too close to denigrating into ugly personal attacks on one another's general character.

I adopted a simply rule: I never directly address another poster.

The issues are the only important thing, who really cares about the general character of any of the participants. If someone is wrong then I will address the points in dispute, but I will never directly address the person who posted the offending message. Hopefully, this has lead to a better signal-to-noise ratio in my postings.

This is only a general suggestion and not a recommendation
