Never has it been more essential that we see personality as a different thing from policy. We may even find that great personalities are not conducive to great policy.

He called ISIS the Junior Varsity (well ok, 10,000 American troops could have crushed them at the border when they started crossing) and then ISIS kicked ass in the world like there was no defense against them. The Middle East literally was aflame and the world was cowed by their terrorist conduct. Yes, Obama called ISIS the "Junior Varsity". But no, ISIS wasn't "kicking ass" when Obama was in office. For a short period, yes, they had some victories and expanded their terrirtory. But then Obama, the Kurds and the Iraqi central government made adjustments in how they were dealing with them and by the time Obama left office, ISIS was teetering on the edge of being destroyed in Iraq. That is why six months in they were effectively gone. And that is also why, after ISIS was removed as a threat to Iraq's Shia government, the Shias in the Iraqi central government then turned their attention to defeating the Kurds, who are our strongest allies in Iraq and who Trump has effectively abandoned. Somehow when you scream about how mighty Trump is in taking down ISIS in such a short period of time, you are completely silent about how the Kurds are being treated both in Iraq and in Turkey. Instead, Trump sings the praises of Erdogan and ignores what is happening in Kirkuk. You guys can be truly ridiculous. Unfortunate, your ignorance is dangerous to all of us.
