Tee hee, I was wondering about that III, though I was leaning toward Trip myself. Now, he's just Bill, around the world.

Cheers, Dan.

...after Democratic presidential nominee George McGovern
dropped Thomas Eagleton as his running mate, Gates
tried to "corner the market" in McGovern-Eagleton
campaign buttons. (Gates won't comment...

Pretty funny. I was working on the McGovern Oregon campaign as a 21 year old precinct captain then. I dropped out of the campaign to protest the treatment of Eagleton. I didn't understand this was a chance to make some money.

I wonder if 'Trey', William Gates III, appreciates the leg up that his parents connections and money and legal expertise and Harvard gave him in the world, or if he thinks he pulled himself up by his bootstraps?

I'm betting he thinks he started off modestly. ;-)
