Very good Dave. With 1.7 Billion shares outstanding, $0.08/share works out to approx. $136 Million. We'll call that "nicely above the number"!

I agree that this was a biased article. Don't you wish the media could be objective.

I agree, that article by reporter Therese Poletti was skewed to the bearish side. The fact is, these analysts are miffed that Intel surprised them.

re Also, the line where they said they expect Intel's price to fall tomorrow, is something I can't imagine any credible analyst would say on the record, even if he/she believed it.

I agree completely. In light of the article on analysts back in Oct of last year (which I read then, but it was nice to see it reposted), my guess is that the Intel IR team is going to be hopping mad just to see an analyst saying something like that. It's one thing to downgrade the stock, but for an analyst (who move the markets more than is proper already with their actions/words) to come out and publicly say they expect the stock to fall tomorrow is really very inappropriate for an analyst who gets "the goods" in closed door meetings with Intel execs.

didn't you notice that .03 is from a lower tax rate, that really put intel earnings at .85, which is inline with the whisper number. While intel has run up in the last two days, you will see a flat result tomorrow.

disclaimer: i don't have positions in intel.
