PC Quote announced today that they began offering Market Guide's fundamental reports and company profiles as add-on subscriptions, enabling day traders and serious investors to analyze companies with data from one of the most highly respected fundamental research providers in the industry. Later in the month, a new browser capability will be fully incorporated with a unique ''drag-and-drop'' ability to drill down from real-time quote screens to other analytical data and broker sites on the World Wide Web. In February, Dow Jones Online News, featuring top business stories, industry news, ''Stocks- to-Watch,'' and articles from Barron's and The Wall Street Journal, is expected to be available for non-professionals.

Didn't bore me.

"These people sometimes make in one day more than the average annual salary in this country. "

The trader does or the fund? you aren't suggesting that the traders make over a million a year, are you?

"They all can read the tape, trade the groups, follow the futures "

How much of trading is in stocks?

"? If you can taperead, monitor the groups and the market, is that a system? I use charting and software scans as one of my tools to find stocks to "taperead". Alot of the people at my place think I'm nuts for this"

Are you saying that they trade stocks based on group volatility, and the indexes? See a strong group with a wide range of movement and if the s&P or oil futures are trending you jump on the first upticks on volume?

Why would you believe that a 1000 share trader can't piggy back on the moves? Do you feel you have to go in with size to move price?

"If there was a true system, who would share it, and once shared would it work? "

unlike futures, where there are few markets; in the stock market we have over 9000. The application of a system to stocks should not effect the outcome with 9000 selection decisions. The old saw of systems not working anymore applies to futures. And has said before even if someone saw a system, would they use it? They would stick with the security blanket they use now.

keep posting.

Alex,
No need to be sorry! I thought your post was wonderful and very helpful to me. Those are questions I've been wondering about for last few months as a lurker. Your concise and thoughtful response was just right for me! It prompted my first ever post on SI! Thank you very much! (You too, Irby! I just love this board!) Off to lurkerville once more!
