I defend the Dems and liberals all the time. I point out repeatedly that liberals gave us the tech renaissance with companies like Microsoft, Twitter, Facebook, Google, Apple etc. Without liberalism, we'd still be living in a tech dark ages. No home computers, cell phones, social media etc. I defend Dems in Congress who saved the US economy from collapse, worked with presidents from both parties, made gay marriage a reality, made the ACA a reality, voted for a man who did a deal with Iran and another deal with the world on climate change. We govern. No republican can ever say this.
