ElM my GDP declined as I aged. For a few decades my GDP grew like crazy. But then I had saved enough and invested enough so I no longer need GDP growth. That's a good thing not a bad thing. Warren Buffett's GDP has continued to increase and that's fine if that's what he wants to do.

Resting on the oars suits me. I earned it. Japanese at my advanced age probably feel the same after a few decades of gung ho work work work.

With 120 million Japanese, they won't be running out of people this century even at 1 baby per woman.

Meanwhile, think of their carbon footprint - that's supposed to be a good thing to have it decline.
