GD,
I think Simmons has a more pragmatic view of the OSX, as well as the CEO's that keep saying business is booming as far as they can see. Unfortunately, the analysts hold the purse strings for the funds and lots of other investors follow them.Go with the flow and be prepared for direction changes.

You guys are scaring me. Do NOT use the chart at
lonestar.texas.net
to calculate trendlines for trading purposes. I developed it quickly to correlate oil prices and the general direction of these oil service stocks. The actual OSX only goes back a couple of months or so. I used a spreadsheet to composite CDG ESV FLC GLM MDCO NE PKD RDC RON & TDW, stocks I just happen to be following, and tacked it on to the front of the OSX.
If someone could tell me the actual stocks that are in the OSX and their weightings, I could develop a more acurate chart for trendline analysis. This chart, I imaginge, is way overweighted in the small drillers and service cos. Please pass this on.
