Yes, conservatives want the government to protect them from the real world because they can't handle it. I think us liberals get that part. What we don't understand is why or how "hate" has become a central part of their belief system. Is a business created to make money or push an agenda of intolerance and hatred masquerading as a religious belief? Case in point, Hobby Lobby. This company claims to have anti-abortion beliefs and yet buys its wears from countries that force women to have abortions. Their deeply held religious beliefs are pure bullshit. When it's not supporting abortion it's stealing antiquities from the Middle East.
