That would be a stupid question, so no I will not ask him. They use both. They use many tools, satellites being just one.

They don't think in terms of one being better than the other.

That is too often how right wingers deny AGW and it is why they are so wrong about it.

Measuring AGW requires the scientist to use all the information available to them.
