Ronald - I'd shed no tears either if the US were to stay in the background on this one. US banks have minimal direct exposure, a fraction of European and Japanese investment. It's their money, let them take the lead. It's the little guy in Asia who's getting hurt, and we don't need to be at the forefront, telling everyone they have to pinch their pennies. Who do you think is going to get blamed for all of the austerity measures, etc? I don't see much mileage for you and me in the IMF and the World Bank. The US citizen gets zip out of it.
