Good morning Milk (and JMyers)! JMyers asked >>If they change the name and symbol, do the MM's have to cover their short? Does a name/symbol change force a MM/etc. to cover the short?..<<

If there is a name/symbol change, that usually causes the CUSIP number to change as well. Accordingly, all the certificates have to be reissued to reflect that change.

Under these circumstances, it is my understanding that shorts have to cover as a matter of logistics.

I am not aware of any way the shorts could get around it. I am not an investment advisor, so additional input is invited.
