He also suggested imposing a tax to ensure the debt was paid off within that time frame." Reagan nearly tripled the debt and Bush doubled the debt. Don't compare apples and oranges. This isn't a fox opinion show where lying is normal. Both Reagan and Bush passed tax cuts. Don't soil the names of great Americans with conservative debt.
