Wharfie, you're posting things to me that show you and I are talking past each other. There's no question that Papadopoulis tried vigorously to arrange a meeting between Trump and a Russian. At least five and maybe as many as eleven emails were sent out by GP offering a meeting. Why was GP doing this? It was the only thing GP even tried to do during his months as a campaign aide. It's only recently that more of his testimony has come out. The part where he claims that there were 'three people encouraging him to do it'. Republicans are trying to force the justice department to release those names. We need to know why GP did this. It can only be one of two things. Either GP himself was a Russian operative or he was being duped into trying to arrange the meetings. If GP was a Russian operative, he would have been charged as such by now and this would really have put Trump on the hot seat. As it is, GP was only charged with perjury about getting a date wrong. That still leaves open the question of why would GP be trying to set up a personal meeting between Trump and a Russian, does it not? It's only an assumption at this point, but I suspect what we will find out is that those people egging him on were not Russians, but were either American or British operatives. The goal was to get Trump to naively agree to just one of those meetings. If that had happened, it would have been game over for Trump.
