ML's update on CREAF. 1/12 (I don't remember anybody posting this before)

As of 30 Sep 97, ST debt was USD0.2m and LT debt was
USD36.6m. The LT debt is in S$, floating rate and
repayable in 19 quarterly instalments from H2, 1997. The
fall in S$ will be positive as the company accounts are
reported in USD. However, they had USD463m cash on 30
Sep 97 and adverse movements in interests rates can be
negated by simply repaying the loan completely. About
85% (or USD83m) of fixed assets are in Singapore &
Malaysia, which is subjected to about 25% dimunition
based on current exchange rates. The impact on balance
sheet is about USD20m but is dwarfed by the huge
USD596.7m shareholders equity base. Receivables,
payables and inventory are almost completely USD based.
