[MSFT]

Now why don't CKFR's analysts come out and explain how Microsoft's partnership with TCI will be as likely to benefit them as Microsoft? If one company builds a freeway, everyone gets to use it.

I'm in this stock long term and am quite confident a year from now I'll wonder why I didn't double my position at these levels. If you have some spare time, check out my post on the Westell thread re: DSL Lite and the actions of the Ad Hoc committee. MSFT, INTC, CPQ, COMS, Siemens, and many others, are pressing to have DSL modems inside PCs for the Christmas market. Do you realize what this will do for e-billing? The committee met early in December and agreed on ADSL/DMT, with an emphasis on a lite solution to get the market started, and they're meeting again on Jan. 20. Not sure their agenda, but hope they give us some guidance afterwards.

As I understand it, deployment at the Central Office could begin before then --- hinging on chips being available --- with a full-court press likely around the Christmas season, and by '99 it'll be Katy bar the door!

Just my take. :)

Later --
