[DLS and telcos]

Microsoft supports ADSL and is pleased to be working with Ameritech to make this service available to its customers."

TL --

This is exactly my point re: Microsoft. They --- he, BG --- will support any technology that enables faster speeds on the Internet. As for Ameritech, the RBOCs have to create ISPs or CLECs, or whatever they choose to be, to bypass the FCC rulings that insist they unbundle their loops to competition. If the costs were equitable, it wouldn't be an issue. Now I know this is a hot topic, but considering all the RBOCs have already reinvented themselves or are planning to, it's clear they're not making up stories just to get their way. Clearly they see the Internet market as important and are doing what they can to address it.

Just my take.

And, hey, I'm thrilled. Go Ameritech!!

Pat
