The increase occurred for both men and women, and for whites and non-whites.

And FDR came to the people aid making 8 million jobs the first 6 months and they elected him four times---a Democrat--who also gave us social security that pulled millions out of abject poverty, mostly old women!! The gop feared another great economic collapse would create another great Democrat leader so they did everything in their power to destroy him and the Constitution. I don't consider them Americans anymore -not after that crisis and their unwillingness to put country first. It's always about what the party wants and that's not American. That's republican. Again, republicans on SI don't defend their party. They hate Democrats.
