__________________Christmas was a Holiday in Cuba_____________________

Just in time for Christmas, Pope John Paul II got gifts from two improbable sources. B.B. King, the 72-year-old American blues artist, gave his beloved electric guitar "Lucille" to the pontiff at an audience for singers and musicians who were to perform in the Vatican's fifth annual Christmas concert. "Happy Christmas and thank you very much," the pope replied, giving the performer a small cross. In Havana, meanwhile, the official Cuban news organizations announced a gift of sorts from President Fidel Castro -- the granting of a public holiday on Christmas Day this year as a special, one-time-only gesture to the pope, who is scheduled to visit in late January. The pope had asked a year ago for Christmas to be restored in Cuba.
