In New York and New Jersey, they've proposed a scheme to allow taxpayers to give to charities that support local schools and other government services, and then allow those donations count as tax credits and become tax-deductible.
Such a scheme would never work. It's all too easy for the federal IRS to figure out the difference between real charitable donations and fake "charitable donations" to state and local government organizations.

But I love how the "blue states" are trying their best to dodge the very taxes that they love so much.
