All fair points but this pushes away from Apple's distortive patent exhaustion claims, and a capped fixed rate per phone isn't an unfair take off of Apple's innovations as much as it is a systematic discount to ease entry into the ecosystem. Qualcomm will need to diversify their business going forward, but I expect them to continue to collect substantial royalties for decades to come due to 4G LTE serving as the backbone of the 5G standard.
