We have used Bt (Bacillus thurigiensis) for over 40 years. Here is an example, though not endorsing a brand here.

I am surprised you don't know about it. Completely non-toxic to humans but when caterpillars eat leaves sprayed with Bt it destroys their guts and eats them from the inside out. I use it on all my kale and lettuce. Oregon is slug heaven so I don't even consider growing cabbage.

Get rid of your sevin because it's a bee killer! Please find something less toxic for other needs.
