Um, calling him a "borderline political prisoner" is very definitely playing the victim card. And then turning around and claiming he was the target of an "Obama vendetta" is doubling down.

Dinesh knowingly broke the law. And he knew it because he took steps to involve other people in his scheme. It would have been one thing if he had just written too many checks. That is what gets a slap on the wrist. But to engage in a conspiracy to violate the law, which is what he did, is a totally different thing.

Your attempts to soft-pedal serious criminal activity is, unfortunately, a defining characteristic of the modern Right. Criminal behavior is fine with you people as long as it aligns with your politics. Making shit up about the supposedly vindictiveness of Obama is also part and parcel of your behavior. Because it is always someone else's fault.
