In other words, the president is not only above the law, he is the law.Yeah. That is exactly what the Founders had in mind when they put together the Constitution... You are closer to the truth than you might realize. The President is the head of the Executive branch and can direct it as he sees fit, unless the law states otherwise. The check on an unsuitable President in the Congress, and by Congress I mean 2/3 of the Senate, not half. Personally I would prefer that Congress assert control and oversight of the of the larger Executive operations, as I didn't like how they were run under Obama.
