I'm unfamliar with the meaning of DTR.

>> BTW, the reason for my question is the fact that HTCH says TSA is good to 600Mb/s while HIF is only good to 400Mb/s. S/N ratios or something... <<

Again am unfamiliar with meaning of the terms TSA and HIF.

I could make guesses...

DTR - Digital Tape Recording
TSA - Tape Storage Array
HIF - ???

Truth is I'm not all that up on the current Tape Drive Technology,
I've been out of that design loop for about 15 years... I was in
it during the days of "Big Iron" and vacuum tensioning... The last
density I worked on was 6250 BPI !!! a long time ago...

Now if this is related to disk drives instead of tapes, well I'm
a bit more informed... but I'm still not an engineer.
