Many years ago out of curiosity I started using FB and never liked it. My wife uses FB for pictures.

Many use FB only as a login for other sites.
Google offers the same and I've always avoided using both. Keeping my online passwords all at one company where I have no control of the security doesn't seem like a good idea to me. With the proliferation of hackers and large data breaches becoming a common occurrence, it's too much of a risk.

I always us the email option when creating a new username/password at sites and skip letting Facebook or Google handle it for me.
