<< I knew when I read your post we were doomed. >>

LOL. As I said in an email to a friend who asked me to please announce an impending stock disaster tomorrow, so that the market would go up:

<<Better watch out. The last time I announced an impending tech disaster, the market took a nosedive. Cymer was trading at 24 1/2!

<<This was unfortunate, in that it led me to the delusion that I have any sort of ability to time the market Maybe it's just better to sell anytime I make ANY kind of prediction.

<<Actually, on average, semi equipment shares moved up today, which saved my butt. If it had gone down I would have been screaming. But these days I'm generally keeping 30-40% of my tech issues in short interests. Shorted ASMLF today at something over 71, hope it goes down some more fast!

I actually made money day-trading today. Sold Cymer, covered Novellus and shorted HELX and ASM, and kept a couple I bought this morning. I keep moving averages on all the stocks since the bomb dropped, and I stay about 60% long on those one standard deviation under and 30-40% short with those one deviation over. It's been working pretty well. My discipline broke down this morning and I went long, which cost me my profits from my Novellus short. Anyway, I'm daytrading only at this point, except I'm long Asyst and holding on with a death grip until earnings are announced.

For those who can't lose their own money, I am happy to assist! 8^)
