Richard: >>>why someone would choose it.

Trading concentrated positions holds greater return/risks potential than trading diversified portfolios. That is basic portfolio theory.

The reason someone would trade concentrated positions is because:

1) The individual's profit goals are much higher than those attainable through trading diversified porfolios.

2) The individual feels that he/she has the ability to trade concentrated positions successfully on a consistent basis.

>I was just interested in how or why someone would choose it, I still am. <

I can answer that question only for myself. My system works best the shorter term it is used. Also throughout my entire trading history I have found out that the shorter term I traded the better I did.

Everyone is different. If I traded long term I would lose my pants.

Some people can play baseball others basketball.Neither is right or wrong about anything. The only wrong person is someone who tries to do something other than they are good at.
