How is a cake a federal "law" or a prohibition against the "free exercise of religion?"
The government cannot force you to act against your religious beliefs.

Now I'll wait while you claim that a "cake" isn't a religious belief. Even the left acknowledges that it's not about the cake.

It's not the cake, it's the government coercion to bake a cake celebrating things his religion has problems with. Like divorce, gay marriage and risque bachelor(ette) parties.
