OMG, COBOL. Although my niece's wife is a COBOL programmer, and situated in her job, I don't think I'd want to disclose I wrote 100s of thousands of lines of it. In fact, it was kind of embarrassing at the time and that was in 79-80-81. FORTRAN, same thing.

I do see there are large numbers of people like me who want to continue working past the age of 40 and have no interest in managing people. I've even learned to like Javascript (which I never thought I could) and Python (which I really like).

They're pretty much all the same to me, other than OO or not OO and strongly or weakly typed. Syntax is nothing more than an annoyance.
