This is a possibility. But as far as I understand, Shanghai will not "replace" Hong Kong, it only wants to present itself as another "Hong Kong" in inner China. I think there is nothing wrong for a country of size of China has two international finance centers.

I agree with you that the prediction of the fall of Asia and China in premature. Of course, there is a possibility if this Asian currency/banking sector problems keep getting worse. But when Asia Japan, and China falls, the US will be also in big trouble. Nobody is immune in this kind of global economy. What bothers me about Stratfor.com's prediction is that they made it sound every other country can fall, and will, and still the US will remain stronger than ever. I smell of something --centric here.
