Why was Russia ever in the G8? It's total GDP is smaller than Canada's or Italy's. Smaller than S Korea's. Looked at on a per capita basis, which is a better measure of industrialization than total GDP, Russia is only a tad above China. Russia is MUCH poorer per capita than any other G7 country. It's a lesser developed country. It's not even a developing country like China is. Russia's biggest asset is Donald Trump himself. "We've got a world to run?" Russia can't even run it's own country well.
