Line orders for the period exceeded 40,000, bringing cumulative lines ordered above 118,000. WinStar began 1997 with about 6,000 cumulative lines ordered. Installations of CLEC lines climbed to 30,000 during the fourth quarter of the year, compared with about 21,000 installations in the preceding quarter.
