Maybe they both BS'ed each other. That would be my guess. Although, who knows, maybe they leveled with each other and said something like, Isn't his wild, the ROW thinks we can't do anything, let's show them! Will Rogers used to tell a story about when he was a boy. He said, the gang he went around with was bad, used to get into all sorts of trouble and make their parents angry. They were so bad that sometimes they would decide to be good just to befuddle their parents and upset them even more. However, it looks to me like Kim got two things he wanted: suspension of the military exercises and a meeting with the President of the US while Trump also got two things ... a meeting and a handshake with Kim. And his base is swooning with admiration as they pretend that something real happened. It is that "Mission Accomplished" sign all over again.

Yeah, it does. As to the suspension of the war games, Trump has already done some of that. Part of the games were cancelled at Kim's behest. And with nothing reciprocal from NK. Now it can be argued that was done as a sign of good faith. But giving up things unilaterally before negotiations even start was supposed to have been the major sin that Obama committed. That the way to negotiate from strength is to have a long list of preconditions to be met before negotiations can start. So here we are,agreeing to preconditions before the negotiations start. Who is negotiating from a position of strength again?
