You are making some reasonable points, Sam, but what I hear the loudest is a desire to maintain the status quo. How did this happen to liberals? A month or so ago, you were upset because you thought Trump was going to up end the supply chains throughout China by trying to force China into opening up its markets more and stopping the theft of intellectual property. It was roiling the stock market and that upset you.

Well, it upsets me, too, because I like to trade also. Nevertheless, I also have a long view and I think China will eventually destroy those supply chains pretty much by replacing them with their own homegrown industries. What Trump is trying to do right now with China is what needed to be done starting in the second or third year of the Obama administration. Why then? Because that's when it started becoming apparent where China could go once it had the technology it needed. Now, I think, it's too late no matter what Trump does.

The future belongs to China. They are going to build out those islands and do whatever they see fit to do with them. The only way to stop China is through military force. Are you in favor of that?

Actually, the way I envision it is that the future belongs to basically all of Asia. China will take the lead both commercially and militarily.

We will be China's only genuine rival. The EU is on the path to becoming increasingly more irrelevant.

I'd like to say more but my day is at an end. Maybe another time.
