"Lastly, Nextel introduced a new phone model, the Nextel i600, manufactured by Motorola(R). The Nextel i600 is smaller and lighter than current models and offers up to 120% increase in battery life over previous models with the same battery. It also offers a number of new additional features that can help manage your business schedule. These features include a vibration alert providing the option for discreet notification of incoming phone calls, voice mail or pages. Another feature is three way-calling which provides the convenience of conference calling while you are away from the office. The Nextel i600 also offers an additional line to better manage business and personal calls with nine selectable ring styles so you'll always know which line is ringing. Nextel also announced the availability of Nationwide Caller ID in 75% of its markets.
Lastly, the company introduced on-line paging from its website. This means that you may send any Nextel customer a 140-character message
from the Nextel website to their phone.

Nextel Communications, based in McLean, VA, is the leading provider of fully integrated wireless communications and has built the largest
guaranteed all-digital wireless network in the United States. Nextel International, Inc. has wireless operations and investments in Canada,
Mexico, Argentina, Brazil, Indonesia, Philippines and Shanghai."

P.T., I know the above info from NXTL's press release isn't enough to fool you but it sure fools me into believing that NXTL has a digital cellular phone business. Gosh, I guess all 324,000 new customers only use Direct Connect. NOT! And caller id must be for direct connect. NOT! And that second phone line must be for direct connect. NOT!

I am a businessman, investor, son, husband, father, uncle, cousin and a dozen other things but I don't feel the need to mention all of them every time I give out targeted information to a targeted group. My son could care less that I am a cousin but he does want to know if his dad will continue to make the tuition payments. Each semester he receives a 'report' from me when I announce that, yes, he's good for one more semester. But if the grades stink, things may change. NXTL's grades are A+ and the future indicates more of the same. McCaw, Akerson et al are world class students.

People with intelligence don't look for things that aren't there.
Your ignorance about Nextel never ceases to amaze me. Or is it bearishness? At least you FINALLY admit that NXTL has contigious band width. I guess the evidence was too overwhelming even for you to continue ignoring it.

With NXTL's volume dwindling today, it appears that no one is reading this board, lurkers or otherwise.
