So as concerning as they might be, the reality is they aren't going anywhere soon.

Having them and using them present different problems. A rational actor won't strike first so as long as all are rational actors, the risks of having them are of greater concern. Those risks are accidents and capture by malevolent actors. Better not to have them, of course, but none of that keeps me up nights.
