Another estimate cut...actually, these estimate cuts make it that much easier for intel to smash estimates later in the year when they start to gain some momentum...I still see 80s when tech. market recovers some of its lost ground from the past few months.

RESEARCH ALERT - Intel estimate cut

LOS ANGELES, Jan. 14 (Reuters) - Hambrecht & Quist cuts its 1998 earnings estimate for Intel Corp to $3.61 a share from
$3.90 to reflect a weak margin outlook and slow revenue growth.

-- The move follows Intel's report of fourth quarter earnings late Tuesday. In its report, Intel forecast a lower gross margin in
the coming year.

P.T., even with the shift to BTO, Compaq obviously had to guess a little for Christmas. Also, why would Intel have to stuff the channel with CPUs if they're already in Compaq computers? And since this was a while back, isn't it possible that the accounts would no longer be receivable, but actually received?
