I got my the last reply I was waiting for just now (from DLJDirect) to my question about whether or not I could sell a BB stock for which I've got a certificate, in advance of actual delivery of the cert(s).

Here are the relevant portions of their answers:

DLJDirect

For bulletin board stocks, we require the shares to be in your account before we can accept an order to sell the shares.

Farsight

You would need to have the certificate (stock) booked into your FarSight account before you were able to sell it.

E-Schwab

Yes, you may sell the securities and deposit the securities into your account by the settlement date. Depending upon the stock, you may not be able to sell them via the software or internet by using a recognizable symbol. If that is not available, you will need to call and speak with a broker to place the trade at 1-800-362-6789. You will be charged the full commission to liquidate these shares if places by a live broker.
