Compaq - Deskpro (thats what our company uses)

Dell - Optiplex (rated 1 or 2 in every review)
XPS (good home machine, not sure about network though)

Type of processor will just depend on how much you would like to spend, but in general, P2 is about 30% faster (bench test) than a comparable pentium MMX chip; however, you may not even need this much processor.

I believe intel has announced another round of price cuts for Jan 25 but some customers may be already getting the reduced price. I noticed on the DELL BTO site, that their was a price cut of about 15% last week on the P2s.

When you purchase the new machines, post what you found on the thread for the rest of us!

buy deskpro 2000's or 4000's get a p233 for you low end and for the super user buy the p266.
i would wait on the deskpro p300 til they at least get 100Mhz busing.
the NT server needs to be proliant not prosigna's.
the 64 meg is okay. make it sdram.
