James, its an NSAID which is a little different in that it is supposed to cause less gastrointestinal and renal problems because in its native form it is not active, but instead needs to be metabolized by lever etc.. to form the active agent. That's all I can tell you about it. If you use about 400mg/day it is about as strong as 4gm/day of aspirin and 1200mg/day of ibuprofen. Hope that it helps your mother's pain, E.C.
