Yes, earnings and revenue , year to year, were up substaintially. However, look at the quarterly rate of change. Not quite as impressive lately. A lot of it is about momentum, and that seems to have slowed. Also, the anal-yst's are pretty much saying flat to down earnings for '98. I think big 'MO' isn't going to show until 2H'98...

Yr over Yr
REVENUE GROWTH
------------------
Q196 to Q197 38.8%
Q296 to Q297 29.0%
Q396 to Q397 19.7%
Q496 to Q497 1.0%

correct; that's about 30% ,
which would warrant a p/e of 30, or a
stock price beyond hundred bucks.

No matter how many "analysts" like BS are
trying to hammer this down, I couldn't
care. just an opportunity to accumulate
at a steal price.

Go Intel

Perhaps you should get your facts lined up before you insult someone.
E in 1997 were up dramatically from 1996

Year to year comparisons are misleading. Intel's EPS peaked in Q496/Q197 :

QUARTERLY EARNINGS VELOCITY - INTC

Calendar Quarters

THIS YEAR EPS LAST YEAR EPS % CHANGE VELOCITYx10
------------- ------------- --------- --------
Q4 97 0.98 Q4 96 1.07 (8.4)
Q3 97 0.88 Q3 96 0.74 18.9 1.8
Q2 97 0.92 Q2 96 0.59 55.9 4.3
Q1 97 1.10 Q1 96 0.51 115.6 7.8
Q4 96 1.07 Q4 95 0.49 118.3 7.6
!!!!!

The EPS growth deceleration is quite apparent.
