Your mom sounds somewhat similar to mine. As soon as one book was done she had another. She and I would debate issues like abortion (she was against it, I was for it) sometimes using articles and editorials in newspapers etc. Neither of us was successful, but our exchange of information was always respectful. Back in those days, before fox and talk radio, republicans weren't morons. My family was somewhat amused when the government did a background check for national security.
