Well said JM. I think you are the first long to admit you didn't like (at least part of) the connotations of the settlement. I think that is the right attitude when investing long or short. Look at everything objectively. If after your DD, you still remain long, more power to you, but after my DD I don't want to be long, please respect that too.

And to answer your question, yes I have had several companies with management that did something I wish they hadn't. And in every case that I can remember, I would have been better off to sell as soon as I learned of their 'mistake'.

But what is even scarier is the point Pierre made. Howard has signed one of the consent decrees before. Did it keep him from getting in trouble again?
