Katelew...wants ICE to do it randomly in a community. The dishonest irony here is appalling. She did not so indicate that in the post about eligibility for employment to which you responded, which is why I commented. I would be surprised if she supports the random checking of papers. That's off-the-scale creepy. Katelew was arguing that the ACLU would be all over the employers for checking papers On what grounds? Employers have the responsibility to assure that employees are old enough to legally work. They do credit checks. I do not see how this is appreciably different. The ACLU might be interested if employers only checked the citizenship of applicants who looked a certain way rather than all applicants.
