I remember pulling up to the West German/East German border on my motorcycle, and having the East German border guard ask for my passport....which he took and tossed onto conveyor belt that looked like it was recycled from a 50 year old gravel pit. Nothing like sitting there watching your passport travel into East Germany without you... The guard went back into his shack, after a few minutes I walked over to see what was up. He said he was waiting for approval. There was nothing in the shack but this guy and a stool, after a few more minutes, he said ok, you can go. classic
