If they then ignore our laws and their requirement to appear in court they too are now here illegal and will always be living in the shadows. How is that any solution?

It isn't. Seems to me that the obvious solution to that is clearer and more rigorous criteria for asylum so that there are fewer applicants just giving it a go and tugging at the heartstrings coupled with sufficient staffing to handle the claims in real time so that applicants are not released into the population prior to a determination. Alternately there are ankle bracelets and/or employment denials to deter trying to live in the shadows.

How about this. Have e-verify be nationally mandated and enforced, with strict penalties for employers. Only, instead of rounding up and deporting the illegals, give them a green card and require they keep it updated as long as they have a job with the employer, with no penalty for the employer if they get the green card.

Because, there really are jobs Americans will not do, in many places.
