Ken, >>> It's been strangely silent from ML since the earnings came out. Hmmm....<<<

We heard from him through Jim Cramer this morning on CNBC - apparently they talk all the time: >>>earnings were right in line with what he was expecting - not as low as it could have been and not unexpectedly too high - Intel is not the greatest thing since sliced bread - dead money for the next several months.<<<

Edelstone, as I recall, is a techie, and doesn't really get it. He thinks it's about making the right call. Drew Peck (Cowens) and TK (ML), on the other hand, are more interested in moving the market. These guys manage perceptions and have far more influence. TK, for example, works (plays/manipulates/uses) people like Cramer and other people that have access to sound bites. It's not exactly rocket science - but it is probably far more difficult and pays a lot better than being a rocket scientist. Trying to manage these people is a little like herding cats.

Rocket (aka IR) scientists at Intel are no match for these guys (new age analysts). Intel may have to change their ways. They may have to go back and do it the old fashion way - a little pat on the butt here, a little arm twisting there, some threats here and there, and a lot of hard ball.

Remember, as Andre Agassi said - perception is everything.

Mary

BTW: That is Drew Peck (I presume) that upgraded Intel at Cowens. That is a biggie.
