The need to fill stories addressing real or imagined issues plays into the Trump arena. The silence on the other side, Mueller, doesn't register with much of the public. Collective senior moments? The guilty pleas and indictments have a short shelf life with the public while the cursor that is the media is in constant motion. Trump's incessant screaming 'FIRE FIRE' apparently works with about 2 out of 5 Americans.
